The Urban Studies and Planning program is really a program that looks deeply at how urban environments are constructed, how they're used, how they're planned, how they're enjoyed by communities.
We're fundamentally interested in policies that affects people in the places that they live. We're also within an interdisciplinary school of architecture, real estate in historic preservation. So we have a variety of opportunities for dual degree programs and interdisciplinary work within the school and across campus.
The urban planning program helped me discover that I had an interest in really trying to understand what's going on in a community and being able to use that information to make good planning decisions for the future.
The urban planning program is unique because it's in the school of the built environment.
It's a very hands on experience for our students. They get to work with policymakers and get out in communities every day.
This is a really exciting place to study planning, it's an exciting place to teach planning, and it's an exciting place to engage with planning issues.
